back outdoors

 We've finally ventured back outdoors here.  Last weekend we thought that it would be the perfect evening to eat outside at our favorite "Floridian" restaurant, and it was.  John can count the times he has eaten out on one finger and we have the picture above to document it.  We gave him a few french fries, and they must have had something in them because he broke out in boils.  Then the boils got infected and we were privileged to return to the pediatrician for the seventh time in two weeks.  good times!  :-) 

We spend most afternoons outside to ensure that John gets a good nap.  Ellie and David each picked out 3 plants and are in charge of tending to them.  The plants are still alive and well, which would not be the case if I had been in charge of them. 

I was cooking this afternoon and looked out my kitchen to find Ellie in the tree and David on his way up.  After I took a picture we clarified that unsupervised tree climbing is now allowed. 

Ellie's BSF class sang yesterday for the first time ever.  I was so excited because my first memory was singing "o for a thousand tongues to sing" at BSF on stage.  {Apparently there has been a legal issue with singing on stage for the last three years and they just got it worked out.  who knew?}
